What Are The Symptoms Of Potential Diabetes?

I went to visit and take care of my girlfriend because she had Gastroenteritis from an ameba, after a few days I started getting diarreah at the beginning, headache, cold feet, night sweats, thirst, frequent urination and constant hunger. When I went to my physician they found I had high blood sugar of 111 while fasting and has sent me to check my glucose. Is it diabetes or am I affected by the ameba that can cause erratic metabolism?

Dear friend i can understand your concern

The fasting blood sugar between 100-125 is called as impaired fasting blood sugar.
blood sugar more than or equal to 126 mg/dl is considered as diabetes.

The major symptoms of diabetes are
1.increase frequency of urination
2.increase thirst
3. unexplained weight loss
4.uncontrolled infections and non healing wounds
5.blurred vision
6.too much hunger
most of this symptoms are due to high blood sugars in blood

in some conditions there might be transient imbalance of blood sugar due to infections which will become normal after eradication of infection from body.
i suggest to check for average blood sugar called Hba1c for better analysis of condition.
regards
