What Are The Symptoms Of Panic Attack?

I woke up feeling like my back had collapsed onto my chest, and my organs were squeezed, causing shortness of breath and a blocked throat feeling. It gets worse when I lay on my side. Am I having a panic attack? (I was diagnosed with moderate to severe anxiety) or is it something else?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that it is an anxiety attack.

Anxiety can cause shortness of breath along with the tightness and crushing feeling that you mentioned.
This is especially likely if other causes of chest pain has been ruled out.

Heart related discomfort tends to occur with activity when the heart works the most.

If you continue to have issues with anxiety the you may need to consider treatment eg counselling and medication for at least a short term

I hope this helps
