General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The answer is yes, in many cases there may be prolonged bleeding in perimenopausal women due to hormonal imbalance and this is usually self limiting and should not cause serious problems. However, it would be good to see gynecologist and examination to see if curretage is required since sometimes tehre may be some endometrium hyperopalsia or polyps which should be removed. If you feel dizzy or fatigued you should check your iron levels and red blood count as well.
I hope I have answered your query. Wish you good health.
