What Are The Symptoms Of Meningitis?

Could my sister have meningitis? My sister is 58, moved in with me in July (from NE). Yesterday she woke at 5 am nauseated, vomited a couple of times and went back to bed. By 9:30 am she was unable to sip Gatorade from a straw and had difficulty speaking. She could not sit up. I call 911 - they took her to Abrazo West hospital where she was diagnosed with Positional Benign Vertigo & sent her home with meds. This morning she had a stiff neck and when she lay flat vertigo kicked in. Her daughter took her to the chiropractor for an adjustment for positional vertigo. The chiropractor said it was not positional vertigo and said she needed to return to the hospital.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I recommend you to take your sister to the hospital and do a CT scan or angio CT scan of the head.

It is important to rule out the serious diseases like hematomas, tumors, Meningitis. You should see a neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
