What Are The Symptoms Of Hypertension?

my blood pressure was 174/124. I am 5 9 , 237 pounds, 43 year old male. I don t smoke. I don t feel bad at all, but now, I m scared. I plan on making an appointment w/ my primary care, but why do I not show or feel any warning signs of Stage 2 Hypertention? Shouldn t I?

I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

It is not unusual at all for a person not to have any symptoms of high blood pressure, generally that indicates that it hasn't increased in a day but slowly over time.
The fact that it doesn't cause symptoms doesn't mean it's not worrying though, it gradually damages your arteries over the years predisposing you to vascular disease such as heart attack or stroke.
So it's better to prevent from now, that's why you should make an appointment with your doctor to search for possible causes and for treatment.
