Hi,I am Dr. Carol Rogala (Emergency Medicine). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi,for the last two days I have been experiencing a little numbness and tingling in my left hand. Also, I think maybe I have a bit of a heart flutter. There is no real pain in my chest just a little discomfort. I have been quite stressed and unable to sleep throughout the night. I am starting to worry as I dont want to have a heart attack or anything of that nature. Is this something I should see a doctor for?
Hi, thank you for asking Healthcare Magic. Numbness and tingling can have several causes with most of them coming from the nervous system (brain, spinal cord or nerves), reduced blood supply to a particular area, electrolyte imbalance like low calcium levels in blood, infections, lack of vitamins, diabetes and so on. It is unlikely for heart failure to begin with numbness and tingling. You need to see a doctor to determine the cause but you should not worry about heart failure.
I hope that answers your query. If you have more questions or any follow up query do not hesitate to write to us. I wish you well
