General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern.

As you are having stomach issues like not being able to eat and getting nauseous, it could be due to 2 main reasons:

- possible side effect of spinal anesthesia (prolonged) causing gastroparesis: neurologist to consult further to determine the right cause

- stomach hyperacidity due to drugs using during operation and after surgery (usually they are narcotics and have such side effects).

I advise to :
- discuss further with neurologist to rule out gastroparesis (although it is a rare side effect).
- have frequent meals in small portions
- take probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora
- take antacids to regulate stomach hyperacidity

Wish fast recovery.
