What Are The Symptoms Of Fibromyalgia?

I was diagnose Of rotator cuff tendonopathy on my left shoulder . My neck and my left lower back is also painful. I was reading about the symptoms Of fibromyalgia. And I have those symptoms. Is it possible that I have it? Before that back On Oct. 2016 I was diagnose of myalgia. I was on light duty for a couple of months. But now they put me to work on a regular duty and I can’t take it anymore. Coz the pain is getting worst and my blood pressure was always high during at work. And I’m having anxiety, panic attacked a few times and ringing on my left ear. I wanna know if that is a sign of Fibromyalgia

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

1. Pain at multiple sites (low back pain with/without radiation to the buttocks and legs, and pain in the neck and across the shoulders are common complaints. Patients may complain of "pain all over".
2. Fatigue.
3. Sleep disturbance (sleep may exacerbate symptoms and contribute to depression).
4. Morning stiffness.
5. Paraesthesiae, that is altered sensation.
6. Feeling of swollen joints (with no objective swelling).
7. Problems with cognition (e.g. memory disturbance, difficulty with word finding).
8. Migraine-type headaches
9. Light-headedness or dizziness.
10. Fluctuations in weight.
11. Anxiety and depression.

Symptoms are generally reported as worse in cold, humid weather and under times of stress. Your symptoms can be due to fibromyalgia. Stress is generally a precipitating factor.

Treatment:
1. Exercise programmes including aerobic exercise and strength training may help some patients with fibromyalgia. The programmes should be tailored to the individual. From a practical point of view, these exercises should slowly increase in intensity, cutting back
when symptoms worsen.

2. Cognitive behavioral therapy may help some patients with fibromyalgia, as may relaxation, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and psychological support.

3. It is not surprising that many traditional, Ayurvedic and herbal treatments have been promoted as helping with this chronic and distressing condition.

4. Paracetamol, NSIADs and tramadol can be used.

5. Anti-depressant tablets are helpful.

Kindly consult a psychiatrist who may help you.
