What Are The Symptoms Of Eating Disorder?

I think I may have an an EDNOS eating disorter.. I am 15 and I found out that I was moving to a new state right after my father went through a big alcholic phase... I have lost interest in many things and I have very werid sleeping habbits and now I don t eat breakfast, lunch and dinner (i only eat dinner when my family makes me sit down and eat with them) otherwise i just have a small snack... So do i have an eating disorter or am I just overreacting?

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are worried that you may be having an eating disorder. You have mentioned that you miss several meals and have poor eating habits. To help you understand whether you have an eating disorder, I have listed below the core features of eating disorders:

- Refusal to maintain a body weight that is at or above the minimum normal weight for your age and height
- Intense fear of gaining weight or becoming fat
- Having a distorted image of your appearance or shape
- Eating too much food in one go / Bingeing
- Engaging in weight losing behaviours like induced vomiting, purging, taking water pills, etc.

In your case, you have any of the above features, then you definitely need a detailed evaluation to confirm a diagnosis of an eating disorder.

Wish you all the best.
