What Should I Watch For After The Patient Faints And Hits Her Head Followed By A Bump?
My 72 year old mother passed out this morning hitting her head. She has a soft bump on the right back side of her head. She refused to go to the doctor. I sat with her for a While and she seem to be ok. What should I watch for? We believe this stems from her blood pressure medicine her doctor has been working on adjusting.
"As"per your clinical history is concerned the most common sign and symptoms of concussion is as below-
1)Amnesia 2)Dizziness or "seeing stars" 3)Ringing in the ears 4)Nausea 5)Vomiting 6)Slurred speech 7)Delayed response to questions 8)Appearing dazed 9)Fatigue
If anyone is present then do a clinical exam by your Doctor[Neurologist]and to confirm it do an MRI scan.
To prevent it in future do follow like this -
1)Making your home safe. Keep your home well-lit and your floors free of anything that might cause you to trip and fall. Falls around the home are a leading cause of head injury.
2)Exercising regularly. If you're older, exercise regularly to strengthen your leg muscles and improve your balance.
Hope that helps
