What Are The Symptoms Of HIV ?

During a party, I happened to drink beer from a glass from which many people had drank before me. Am I at risk of catching HIV that way, if, for example, a person happened to have cracks on their lips or sores in their mouth?

Thank you for your answer, I'm really worried!

Hello,
Thanks for the consult...

Brief answer,
Minimal risk of exposure to hiv only when the cut surface of lip exposed to the drink

Detailed Explanation,
1. Generally hiv can't be transmitted by saliva but hepatitis B can tranfer through saliva
2. In case of hiv individual who has cut surfaces on the lips and the drink at the clubs/ parties then there is a risk of transmission of hiv
3. Try to get tested for RNA polymerase which gives result 1-3 weeks of exposure
4. Also do test for hepatitis B virus
