What Are The Symptoms For Low Potassium And Does Prednisone Dries Up The Mouth And On Levoflaxcin?
Hello. I am a 62 yr. old woman. I am wanting info on potassium. I went to dr. a week ago. I have pnemonia and got a call Tuesday telling me he called me some much stronger potassium than I have been on. My mouth is all broke out now. I have been on prednisone for 2 weeks (for coughing) and am on lots of other meds for different medical problems. Anyway, what would low potassium make you feel like. And is it normal for my mouth to be so broken out while taking the prednisone. I am also on Levofloxacin 750 mg once a day. Thank you so much for some answers.
Thanks for query on HCM. Potassium is important for a person's muscles to work effectively, including the heart. Potassium also has a role in regulating blood pressure.Low potassium can have severe effects on the heart, nerves and muscles. Go for serum electrolytes investigation to confirm it. ECG or a heart tracing is done to detect electrical changes in the heart and certain types of irregular heart rhythms that may be caused by low potassium. Take b12,folic acid regularly. Continue your medicines. Drink more water and other liquids. Keep in touch with your doctor.
