What Are The Symptoms And Treatment Of Sexually Transmitted Diseases?

My boyfriend has symptoms of an STD (or so he thinks) painful urination, irritation and slight discharge. I have no symptoms, and we have had unprotected sex. Could this be from me? Or did he contract this before I met him? I got STD tested today but I am very anxious. Thanks.

Thank you for query.Sometimes there may be asymptomatic infections present which can manifest in the partner. It also depends on number of partners each partner has.with you not having symptoms he might have acquired it from some other partners also.it cannot be clearly said also as incubation period of STDs varies from days to months. Some of the symptoms are not specific to STD except for discharge which may be due to STD.So both of you get tested for STDs and if both have same disease then it is mutually spread between each other. You can get back to me for any clarifications with the photos.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist
