What Are The Symptoms And Treatment For Diabetes?

I am afraid of having/developing diabetes. Lots of tingling, numbness in fingers and hands (like when you sleep on your hand and it goes to sleep and you have to shake and rub it to return to normal). CTS or diabetes or vascular. Have COPD, emphysema. On O2 24/7, have portable in shoulder bag I carry, mostly w/left shoulder. Computer keyboard typist all my life, specifically medical transcriptionist, over 30 years. Trying to get Int Med physician here in Pensacola, Florida, as I moved here 3 mos. ago. Maybe he/she could oversee my diagnoses without going to pulmonologist, as my symptoms are maintained right now. On disability, 62YO, limited budget. Int Med in Atlanta covered my diagnoses, also including depression/anxiety. No anxiety meds. 1 20mg Prozac daily, 2 50mg Trazadone hs, carb/levo for RLS, Symbicort, Spiriva. Whatta ya think Dr. Grief? What is your specialty?

Answers for your question:
1)Symptoms of diabetes: polyuria, polydipsia, polyphagia, weight loss, delayed wound healing ,weakness, tingling and numbness, Erectile dysfunction, skin infection, blurred vision etc
2)Treatment: regular walking, diet control(less carbs, no sugar or any sweets) , oral tablets(like metformin, gliptins, acarbose, glipizide etc),insulin if needed.

Get your HbA1C done and if it is less than 5.5%,you are non diabetic.if 5.6-6.4 then pre diabetic and if more than 6.5 , you arer diabetic.
