I was wondering if there s any doctors out there that s able to give me some insight on being a Beta Thalassemia Carrier. My local GP told me I shouldn t feel anything however, I do get dizzy and faint quite frequently, and was wondering if this was a symptom.

Hello
Welcome to HCM

Beta thalassemia carrier is very minor disease because it has only single gene.
Person has only mild anemia with or without iron deficiency. Hemoglobin level just slightly decrease.
No treatment required for Beta thalassemia carrier. For iron deficiency, no any iron therapy needed because of minor disease.
Dizziness and fainting may be due to minor hemoglobin deficiency and minor iron deficiency.
Just take healthy diet with lemon juice or buttermilk will help you in increasing your iron level but it will take time.
Hope you are happy with these.
Take care...
