Hello,
Wysolone or Prednisone is a Category C drug in pregnancy. This has been shown to cause birth defects in animal studies and these include cleft palate. There are no proper human studies. The babies born after maternal treatment during pregnancy should later be watched out for features of hypoadrenalism. Thus, use of Prednisone in pregnancy is to be done only when it is definitely necessary and the benefits outweigh the risks. Hope your query has been clarified. Take care.
