Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted the symptoms of your daughter.

I am glad to note that she is seizure free for three years on valparin syrup. Valparin (valproate) is a safe and effective medication for controlling seizures.

Behavioural changes and growth delay are not the side effects of valparin.

Weight gain, tremors and hair loos may occur in some children on valparin treatment.

Please discuss these issues with her neurologist.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
