General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi! Zoloft tablets are actually a drug called as Sertraline. This is a group of drugs called as SSRI's. (Selective Serotonin Uptake Inhibitors). Zoloft is a member of the SSRI family that includes other similar drugs like Venlafaxine, Fluoxetine, Escitalopram, Citalopram and Fluoxamine. You mentioned that Zoloft was causing you so many side effects that you were wondering whether to use it at all. Don't worry! A new drug is also available today. It has the same "good and curative" power of Zoloft without any side effects at all. The name of this amazing drug is Vilazodone. It is more powerful than Zoloft and keeps you fit to work and play. Please ask your doctor to prescribe you Vilazine, as it is popularly called in your country.
