Hello,

Lasix is a diuretic and it makes you pass more urine than the normal.
When you stopped lasix the kidneys are not able to push out more water and you retain it.
Your veins are prominent because there is more water in your circulatory system. You would have noticed that your legs swell up at the end of the day. After your sleep you would find that the legs are thinner in the mornings.
The main side effect of lasix is the loss of electrolytes mainly Potassium which can make you feel weak and tired. If the loss is very much and the Potassium level in the blood level drops to very low levels you can get abnormalities in heart beat which can lead to a dangerous arrhythmia.
I shall be able to help you better if you share the reason for your taking Lasix in the first place and any other medicine you were on.
Best wishes,
Dr. Noble Zachariah
