What Are The Side Effects Of Smoking During Pregnancy?

Hi. Well I smoked meth quite frequently before I found out I was 7w pregnant. I stopped immediately when I did & my 12 week scan yesterday looked good but get results in a week to confirm that. However I stupidly smoked a little bit again last night & feel absolutely terrible!! I know I stuffed up but have I harmed my baby badly in doing so? I feel like I have or am I maybe overreacting a bit? I will never do that again (still not sure why I did last night) but am very concerned the damage is done & I hate myself for it :(

Hello,

Welcome to healthcaremagic.com!

I really appreciate your concern. Smoking do have adverse effects on developing fetus and pregnancy outcomes. It can lead to growth retardation of fetus. You do understand this fact. So don't feel guilty or blame yourself. You just have to control the desire of smoking at least during pregnancy. It is for the good of your baby and you.

Hope my answer has solved your query. Take Care.

Thank you.

Best Regards.
