General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concern. Smoking cannabis while on birth control implants can possibly increase breakthrough bleeding and potentially decrease contraceptive effectiveness, which may lead to increased risk of pregnancy.

Weight changes doesn't mean that you could be pregnant. Kindly take urine pregnancy test and an ultrasound scan of the abdomen. Consult Obstetrician with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
