What Are The Side Effects Of Prolomet XL25 And XL50 ?

Dear Sir, I took prolomet XL25 and XL50 respectively, morning and night everyday since 2012 March. My Bp level is always in between 140/95 and 130/90. I want to know if there any side effect for taking the above mentioned tablet. Regards B. Gunasekaran

Prolomet contains metoprolol that is used to treat hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases. If you are taking prolomet without any side effects, then I would suggest you to continue using it. common side effects include dizziness, headache, tiredness and others. But these side effects does not occur with all the patients taking metoprolol.
With regard to your current readings, I would advice another 10 mm reduction in blood pressure. I would have advised my patient lifestyle modifications like regular physical exercise and a well balanced diet along with medications.
