What Are The Side Effects Of Long Term Use Of Progesterone Acetate?

I am a 50 yr. old woman, here in NB, Canada. I have been diagnosed as being in in full Menopause. My OBGYN has, put me on HRT. I take 2.5mg. of Progesterone Acetate. per day, in tablet form. Along with 0.06% 'Estrogel'. 2x per day. I pump the gel on my hand, than apply it, to my upper arm or top of my thigh. I want to know if there are any bad side effects to long term use? Are there any other suggestions, or procedures other, than what I am taking? I am still suffering with terrible hot flashes. after 1 entire month. Thanks.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
It appears that the drugs you are using for H.R.T. might not have suited for you, as it happens with many people.
You may need to have a patch or an injection form. I advise you to consult an endocrinologist for diagnosis and treatment.
You may also be engaged in some or other avgations like be busy in some deed like meditation, reading books or gardening if interested.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts and protein rich foods.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
