Hello, Defza 30 mg consists of 30 milligrams of Deflazacort which is a cortico-steroid class of medication. I use it commonly in my clinic for various dermatological conditions. oral cortico-steriods are reserved in conditions where topical creams and ointments have been ineffective. They are generally safe if used for a short course of one week and may require tapering of dose when stopping the medication. Side effects are many but in my clinical setting i would exercise caution in prescribing to a patient with hypertension, diabetes milletus and hyper-cholesterolemia as these conditions are worsened by the said medication.
