What Are The Side Effects Of Zoloft?

My husband began taking Zoloft about 5 days ago and states that each day he feels progressively worse. I am reading about Zoloft and am finding that this worsening feeling is normal initially. Is that true? Should I be concerned and call his MD? Thank you. Marianne

Hello
Zoloft is an anti depressant ( sertraline ) and in the beginning , this causes many bothersome side effects as nausea, anorexia , dyspepsia , ejaculation disorder , diarrhea , flatulence, somnolence, AGITATION , NERVOUSNESS, TREMORS, FLUSHES , BLURRED VISION.
No doubt these symptoms are peculiar for a newly patients who take this drug . Some patient feel hunger and desire to eat but feels like abdomen is full
After 15 -20 days this drug adjusted .
These side effects are also depend on dosage , so be careful about dosage:
Initially 50 mg once daily after meal, may increase in steps of 50 mg at WEEKLY intervals .
Maximum 200 mg daily .
So these side effects are not a cause of concern and need not to consult your treating doctor at once .
Rather try to adjust the tablet so that your husband get full therapeutic benefit.
Hope this will help.
