General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
the lipid profile you have mentioned is slightly on the higher side but not alarming.
the fasting blood sugar levels are also totally normal.
rosuvas f contains rosuvastatin and fenofibrate both drugs used for lowering the cholesterol levels.
the most common side effects with the usage would be myalgia, drowsiness, nausea.
statins do interact with coenzyme q10 and can result in their significant depletion upto 30 to 40%
if you donot not have other chronic diseases like hypertension/diabetes i would suggest there is not an immediate requirement of the drug.
since you have modified your life style and exercise daily i would suggest continue doing the same for two months and repeat the lipid profile.
exercise and diet plan play an equal role as drugs if not more in lowering the cholesterol levels.
in case the lipids are still high i would suggest plain rosuvas 20mg rather than the combination drug. this would reduce the side effects.
depending on the response the dosage and addition of the fibric acid can be decided later.
hope i have answered your concerns.
feel free to ask further queries.
thanks for choosing HCM
