General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.

Incomplete data like age, gender, any associated medical illness or medications taken??
I can understand your concern regarding the safety of the cholesterol lowring medication Pravastatin.

Generally it is well tolerated by most of our patients, however it is known to cause myopathy (muscle pain, weakness or tenderness) liver damage resulting in fever, jaundice (yellowing of the eyes or skin), stomach upset, etc.

However, it is not known to cause persistent dry cough or difficulty in breathing. You need to consult your treating physician to find out the possible cause of dry cough like bronchial asthma or pleurisy.

Hope this would help you to get rid off the dry cough.
A feed back is appreciated.
