What Are The Side Effects Of Mirena IUD?

Hi. I have a mirena IUD (not the coil) and have had it for around 3 years now. I had unprotected sex a week ago and have had back pain, abdomen pain, bloating, nausea and increased appetite since then. I am also on the combined pill and have not had a period in a long time. I often do get cramping anywhere with the mirena but could there be anything to worry about with these latest symptoms?

Hi welcome to health care magic....

You are using IUCD for contraceptive measures ....
So no need for using contraceptive pill also ..although If used for another indication than can be taken..

IUCD effective in preventing pregnacy for up to five year ....

If abdominal pain there than it is better to consult gynecologist for excluding ectopic pregnancy ...
If no significant cause present than it could be simple functional bowel problem..

Healthy and balanced diet taken ..

Take care

Advise : Consult gynecologist for examination....
