What Are The Side Effects Of Methadone And Fentanyl Patch?

My wife is taking 10 milligram methadone and 75 microgram fentanol patch with 4 ibubprofun per day. She also sits in the sun for an hour or so per day. These are prescribed due to severe back pain. Please let us know of any serious potential issues. Thanks

Methadone and fentanyl are strong narcotics that can be very addictive. People on long term use often develop a tolerance to them and may need increasing doses. Stopping them abruptly could cause bad withdrawal symptoms. Narcotics can cause severe constipation which could very rarely result in bowel obstruction. Long term use of ibuprofen can cause damage to the kidneys and liver. I don't see any specific concern about sun exposure of this degree except for the well known increased rate of skin cancers years later. Hope this answers your question.
