Dear madam i can understand your concern. i am very happy to see your diabetes under control as per your age your fasting blood sugar should be below 120 mg/dl and 2 hrs after food should be below 160 mg/dl Hba1c should be maintained below 7%. metformin is a very good drug it helps you to loose some weight and improves insulin resistance. there are minor side effects for metformin like gastric intolerance which can be avoided by taking sustained release formulations. regards Dr vamsi krishna Diabetologist
