What Are The Side Effects Of Lisinopril?

I am taking 20mg of lisinopril daily. I have also reduced my tobacco smoking from 2 packs a day to 1/2 pack but am experiencing some dizziness/light headedness. Can the continued smoking be the cause or is this just a continuing side effect of the lisinopril?

Hi & Welcome.
Lisinopril (an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor) is effective drug most commonly used in the treatment of high BP.
Generally it is safe, however the most common side effects include fall in BP, dry cough, swelling of the lips and the eyes, allergic reaction, etc.
The symptoms of of dizziness & light headedness seem to be due to a fall in BP caused by the side effect of Lisinopril.
You are therefore advised to consult your treating physician to adjust the dose of Lisinopril.
On the other hand gradually reducing the tobacco use (smoking) will not cause dizziness or light headedness.
