What Are The Side Effects Of Latuda?
my son is 20 yrs old and was prescribed 40 mg Latuda a month ago for bipolar depression, since the celexa he was prescribed for depression did not stabilize his depressions and agitation following it.. It did stabilize his ups and downs but lately he has experienced some physical discomfort, complaining he doesn t feel well while sitting or laying in bed and tension of muscles. He can not find a comfortable position in order to rest. He is active otherwise and bikes and skateboards, but when resting he is not able to achieve without discomfort. Also he has painful tingling- sensation- kind of headaches. is this a side effect of Latuda since he did not have this complaints before? How to threat it?

Some of the side effects of Latuda (lurasidone),which may be relevant in your son's case .
headache
inability to sit still
incremental or ratchet-like movement of the muscle
muscle discomfort
muscle trembling, jerking, or stiffness
need to keep moving
restlessness
rigid or stiff muscles
shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet.
However painful tingling- sensation(parasthesiae ) has not been reported.
If the symptoms are persistent and troublesome,you need to see your psychiatrist again for drug/dose adjustment.
