What Are The Side Effects Of Humira?

How can I find out all the side effects of humira. My daughter has been on it for RA for 2years and is now hospitalized with what is presenting as pnuemonia but is not responding to any antibiotics that would normally knock that right out. She had lung biopsies yesterday. She is running a high fever. They have ruled out mrsa, flu, and c-diff. I would just like to look into the humira as it was mentioned as a possible cause. Today is the 7th day she is fighting this. I would just like to know what they are talking about with the humira

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Humira works by preventing/reducing a part of the immune system response to inflammation.

By reducing inflammation, it can help with rheumatoid arthritis but this also means that it prevent the immune system from fighting off infections as it normally would.

She is not able to put up a fight as she normally would.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
