What Are The Side Effects Of Benda Mebendazole?

Hello, my husband and I just returned from a 3 week visit to Myanmar. We were given a single dose of Benda 500, mebendazole to take after we returned home, just as a preventative measures. Is this recommended? I was checking on line for side effects, but didn t see anything about using the drug unless you knew you were infected. Also the instructions didn t tell anything but the dosage. On line it mentioned chewing the tablet. Is that required for the 500 mg tablet?

Hi,

I have gone though your query.
Yes, Mebendazole is recommended when you return from the countries endemic to diseases related to worms. It is just precautionary measure. Moreover single dose of it has no side effects and it is good to take even without checking if you are infected or not.
Tablets can be chewed or swallowed depending upon its make.
