What Are The Side Effects Of Augmentin?

Hi- I had bronchitis about three weeks ago and started taking antibiotics ( Augmentin) but the med gave me diarrhea so my doctor had me stop taking it after 2 days. Since that time (12 days ago) the diarrhea has continued. At times the stool firms up somewhat but periodically becomes watery again, depending on what I eat. I m having a lot of stomach discomfort, lots of gas and lots of reflux. What can I do to get it to stop?

Hi,
You should stop all the antibiotics immediately, specially if your brinchitins is treated. You should start with vapour inhalation for the same.
Now for diarrhoea, you should take lots of water and water supplements with Oral Rehydration Solution.
You can take Ranitidine (150 mg) twice a day or Omeprazole 20mg once a day (Either of two)
for 1 week.
Tab. Domperidone 10 mg for twice a day for 1 week
and Antacid Gel thrice a day.
You have got symptoms of gastritis and Augmentin diarrhea.
You can also supplement the Lactobacillus rich symbiotic yogurt for one week.
