Hi,
Thanks for asking your query at health care magic.
I understand your concern. I am Dr Alok Sinha, MD Psychiatry from India. I will try to help you with best of my effort. I have tailored my answers as per your question.
1.
Masturbation is a sexual gratifying act in which a person manually manipulate his/her genitalia to achieve sexual satisfaction. It is a common act in adolescents and young adults, and sometimes in sexually deprived married persons. Sex is a natural need of body, but it is not necessary and many celeb persons claims to have sex free life. Even after control of sexual behaviour, or even with regular normal sexual activity, nightfall may occur sometimes. But one should not worry for night falls and should take it as a natural process as it is a bodily process for which one should not feel guilt.
2. Ideal frequency is not defined any where but it is quite variable. In adolescent age due to sudden spurt of sex hormones the desire for sex and arousal is much more with little control over this bodily instinct, so the frequency is high may be multiple times in a week or even a day. But with advancement of age the frequency decreases due to plateau in sex-hormone level and control over urges, thus causing decrease in frequency (may be a few times in a month or year). Commonly upper age of masturbation in male is till late 60s but in females due to
menopause sexual desire and masturbation is uncommon beyond 50 years.
3. There is no side effect of masturbating 4-5 times a month. Erection occurs daily after midnight. And there may be nightfall once or twice a month if abstinence from sexual activity is tried.
4. Thus, you might have understood by now that it is a common phenomenon and let me assure you that in future it will not cause any problem.
I hope it answers your queries. I wish you all the best.
