What Are The Side Effect Of Doing Total Hysterectomy Due To Endometrial Biopsy Results Being Complex Post Menopause?

I am 59 yrs old and just had a total hysterectomy due to endometrial biopsy results being complex hyperplasia with nuclear atypia. The surgery went we ll and i am healing well but I am wondering what the side effect will be having this procedure being post menopausal in regards to hormones

Hi, thanks for posting.

Great to hear that you are healing well.

Since you are 59 years of age, by now your ovaries would have stopped functioning naturally. The ovaries are responsible for secretion of hormones. You would not have any side effects of the procedure with regard to hormonal functions. Please take adequate calcium and vitamin D supplements after consulting with your doctor. And also do regular exercises after your advised perion of rest is over.
