What Are The Safe Methods Of Abortion?

I missed my periods. Its been 8days now and I see no symptoms of me getting my periods. I am married but me and my husband don t want a child right now. Can you suggest any home remedy to get rid of the pregnancy incase it is there? We have heard that taking medication for abortion can result into complications in conceiving later. How far is that true? Kindly suggest.

It is NOT safe to terminate pregnancy at home and there is no effective home remedy to get rid of the pregnancy.

Yes, it is quite true that taking the medications for abortion without the supervision of a gynecologist can result in complications like severe vaginal bleeding, cramps, incomplete abortion and infection.

You are advised to consult a gynecologist for proper evaluation like
1. Confirmation of pregnancy, its duration and location.

Medications to abort are effective if the duration of pregnancy is not more than 7 months, it should be intrauterine pregnancy (within the womb) as ectopic pregnancy (tubal pregnancy) the complications of bleeding will be very high.

The gynecologist will prescribe you the medicines Mifepristone & Misoprostol.
One tablet of Mifepristone to be taken orally first, then after 24 hours remaining 4 tablets of Misoprostol are to be taken orally at once.
Bleeding (abortion) occurs within 6 hours to 5 days.

After the bleeding stops, it is obligatory to confirm complete abortion by an ultrasound by a gynecologist.
