Hello,
Welcome to HCM
Kidney transplantation is indicated only in the end stage renal disease(ESRD).
First thing you tell your sister to confirm that is she suffering from ESRD? from her doctor.
Second thing, for donating a kidney many criterias have to be fulfilled like criteria
-Minimum age of 18 years old
-Approximate maximum age of 60 years old
-Good general health (no history of diabetes, high blood pressure, or hepatitis)
-No history of kidney disease
-No major weight problems
-Blood typing. Since you are healthy and 54 year old ,you can definitely donate your kidney.
You can convince your sister by telling that people can lead a normal life with one functioning kidney also.Nothing to worry.
