What Are The Risks Of Consuming Melted Plastic?

At work one of the guys put a metal pan of soup in the deep fryer to heat it up real fast. The pan was lined with a plastic scorch bag that melted in seconds. My coworker removed the remainder of the bag and was going to serve it, but I through it away. Is this toxic? If the plastic congeales in are throat, stomach, large and/or large intestine, can it get permanently lodged and cause some kind of blockage? I told this guy that it could make someone sick and maybe even kill one of are older customers, do you concur?

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way.

Brief ans:
Why not avoid consuming it.

Detailed:

There are a number of plastics present in the market,.

Concerns:
A very few plastic molecules are known to cause immediate effects, yes they can congeal in your body but they are not usually sharp of big enough to block it or damage it physically though it can happen in rare cases.

Permanent Lodging:
it's a remote possibility unless intestine already has sum other issues like malformation, fistula or polyps.(and as you talked about an old customer they frequently have abnormalities in their cut so this adds to risk.

How plastics can actually hurt you:

Plastics are known to cause Cancers, but this again, not with a single consumption or in inhalation but it USUALLY takes a couple of decades to show its symptoms.
Microwave-safe plastic containers and wraps are safe to use in the microwave.

But plastic containers not intended for use in the microwave could melt and potentially leak chemicals into your food.

Plastics causing cancer:

Bisphenol A (BPA)
Bisphenol A (BPA) is one of the most pervasive chemicals in modern life. used in consumer products, including food packaging. BPA exposure may disrupt normal breast development in ways that predispose women for later life breast cancer.

Phthalates
endocrine-disrupting chemicals found in PVc,linked to early puberty in girls>later-life breast cancer.

Vinyl Chloride
Vmanufacture of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)>breast cancer among workers involved in its manufacture.

Dioxin
manufacture of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) a known human carcinogen, and is also an endocrine disruptor.

Styrene
found in Styrofoam food trays, egg cartons, disposable cups and bowls, carryout containers and opaque plastic cutlery>possible human carcinogen.

Conclusion: Immediate effects are rarely expected but plastic mixing in you food, your air,you water can be dangerous that's why paper recycled bags (green bags)are preferred these days.
