What Are The Repercussions Of Taking Albuterol And Brovana Together?

a health care provider has mixed albuterol with brovana instead of budesonide by mistake for the last two months causing extensive breathing problems. What can this do to the patient long term and can it be resolved and hence stabilize her breathing issues?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It would be the absence of the budesonide that can potentially affect breathing, the person was not getting the inhaled steroid as he or she needed it.

Restarting the budesonide or another inhaled steroid should help to improved any breathing issues that may have occcur.
If they are severe , she may need a course of oral steroids.

The mixture of the brovana and albuterol would not cause breathing problems but the fact that the steroid was not given.
Combining the albuterol and brovana can increase the risk of palpitations and also cause an increase in blood pressure.

The level of potassium can also be potentially decreased in some as well.

I hope this helps
