What Are The Repercussions Of Overdosing On Metoprolol?
I accidentally took a second dose of my metoprolol er succinate 100mg tablets around bedtime, having forgotten that I had already taken it. I managed to induce a little vomiting to get some of it up. I have been on this drug over 10 years for tachycardia and never had a problem with it. Is there anything to worry about or can I go on to sleep?

I do not see any grave danger or toxicity due to consumption of double dose of metoprolol accidentally.
Do monitor for symptoms like giddiness, headache and/or sweating. If you have blood pressure measuring apparatus, monitoring of blood pressure will be handy. Or you can just measure your pulse rate.
If the pulse rate dips below 60 and/or the blood pressure dips way too low (>100/60) and/or if you are experiencing severe symptoms, then intervention by a doctor may be required.
If you are experiencing hypotension symptoms like giddiness, then prior to reporting to ER, you should lie down with legs placed above your head level. This will help in increasing the blood pressure before medical care can be given.
