What Are The Repercussions Of Overdose Of Amoxicillin?

Hi I m a 23 year old female in 5 2 and 208 pounds and I recently went to the doctors and got prescribed amoxicillin it s a 875mg and its due to ear infection and sore throat I took the pill at 11pm and I forgot I had taken it and when I asked my boyfriend he said I didn t so I took the other at 1am! Will I be okay? And should I take the next dose of it and how long should I wait? And I also have a headache is it okay to take something for that??

Hello,

While you may experience some side effects from the Amoxicillin with this dose, such as nausea, vomiting, or headache, it is not likely to cause any serious problems, and I would continue with your next dose (I am guessing every 12 hours) as normal, as most of it should be cleared by then.

For a headache, you can use either Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen and that should not cause any problems or interactions with the Amoxicillin.
