What Are The Repercussions Of Accidental Extra Dosage Of Singulair?

Hello - my 13 year old daughter takes Singulair 5mg once a day at night to help control allergy and asthma. Just now, she accidently swallowed 4 tablets (20mg) instead of 1. Do I need to take any action? Just watch her? Please advise. Thank you! Cindy Van Duzee

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Since the total consumed dose is 80mg, it is way more than normal dosage, therefore, she should be taken to the emergency room where doctors will evaluate her and keep her under observation as her vitals need to be maintained.

However, do not panic. It will be handled well by doctors as it needs observation under medical care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
