What Are The Repercussions Of Relent Overdose In A Child?

My mother in law gave 5 ml relent to my 8 yrs old son few mins back but she did not tell me. Since he is suffering from severe cold and sneezing continously I gave 4 ml thinking that he dint take the medicine. Later she confirmed that she had give the medicine too. I am worried what will happen. This has never happened before,first time we made a mistake like this.pls suggest

Relent Syrup contains ingredients namely Ambroxol and Cetirizine. Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent and Certirizine has anti-allergic action.

Common side effects when taken over-dose of this medication include: drowsiness, dizziness, hypotension or headache. Kindly watch for these symptoms and treat symptomatically if any such symptom develops.

It would be advisable to give good quantities of fluids so that the medication can be metabolised and excreted promptly. Also, it would be advisable to make the child sleep and avoid physical activities such as playing games outdoor for the next 8 to 12 hours.

Be careful not to give any medication other than the dose what has been recommended.
