The commonest causes of your problems of itching around the anus, soft lumps and purple discoloration of 3 inches circle around anus are as follows: Dermatitis with fungal infection of the peri-anal skin and mixed infection. This can be secondary to colitis or so. These things can cause the toilet paper to get stained with blood on wiping. Hence I would advise you the following: Get a consultation of a General Surgeon and/or a Dermatologist. Clean the area with plain water and do not use any soaps. Keep the area dry with a hair dryer. Apply liquid povidone iodine locally and allow it to dry-up. Send the sample of stool. Blood tests for CBC, diabetes and so on as per clinical evaluation. Start a course of an antibiotic and metronidazole; probiotics, multivitamins with mineral. This should give you a great relief. Anti-fungal tablets and local/topical applications if there is an evidence of fungal infection. Further management as per the reports of investigations.
