What Are The Processes Involved In Gamma Knife Therapy For Schwannoma Tumor?

hi.. My father has been diagnosed with schwannoma tumor in left vestibule nerve. Neurosurgeon at Kolkata has referred to Dr.Shashank Kale, AIIMS, Delhi, for Gamma knife therapy. We want to book an appointment for Gamma knife therapy. What are the procedures?

Gamma knife therapy is newer kind of surgery. In which gamma rays are used to cut the tumour tissue.
It is highly specific and less injurious to surrounding tissue.
The cut made by gamma knife are very precise in dimension so over cutting of tiisue and damage to surrounding vital structures are prevented.
And this is the recent advance in brain surgery. So no need to worry much about this. It is safer than other techniques of brain surgery.
