Hello and welcome to HCM,
I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.

Hysterectomy is a major surgery and a few precautions can make it simple and help in a faster recovery.

Before the surgery, try to build up your hemoglobin by eating plenty of fruits and green vegetables and salads. Switch to a light diet 48 hours before the procedure and take preferably semi solid or liquid diet a day before the surgery. Take a bath on the day of the procedure or as instructed by your doctor.

After the surgery follow the dietary advice as per your doctor. When a full diet is allowed take a meal adequate in proteins and vitamins meaning 2 fruits per day and a helping of meat or fish.

Move your limbs as soon as you are allowed to prevent blood clots. Gradually start your work after discharge from the hospital and build up bit by bit. Do not lift heavy weight for 3 months to prevent prolapse of the vault. Sexual activity is also best avoided for 3 months until the vault sutures are completely healed.

With all this you should be fine.
My best wishes for a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

Hope this was helpful.
Feel free to ask any further queries and I will be happy to help.
Thanks for using HCM.
Have a good day.
