What Are The Precautions To Be Taken Before Blood Test?

I am supposed to have blood tests tomorow morning and am not sure how to prepare. I know there is no food in the morning, but are there other things I should do, like no water, pills, vitamins or supplements ? I want to get accurate results, as this is followup to some high numbers for cholesterol and blood glucose. Is Tylenol o-kay?

Greetings. Just ease yourself. Stay cool. No need to worry and panic for Blood test. Listen to your favourite songs & have a nice sleep the day before test.

Precaution are simple to follow:
1. Ideally at least
-a 12-hour fast required for cholesterol and triglyceride screenings.
- an eight-hour fast for glucose tests.
2. It's important to make sure your blood sample is not influenced by food or drink on morning before test.
Note: Water and your regular pills are allowed though some are not allowed which you can consult the doctor before test.

Result will be inaccurate if not following these and may require a repeat test.

Some more precautions are there depending on your health condition, drugs you are taking, and many factors. This is just a simple guidance.

Finally, Tyrenol should not be taken before test as fasting decreases levels of glutathione, an antioxidant that helps the liver detoxify that medicine ''Tyrenol''.

Hope it helped.
