What Are The Possible Treatments For Ruptured Discs And Trap Erred Nerves?

.Hi I am prescribed 40 mg og diazipam per day and 15 mg nitrazipam . Plus 20 mg of temazipam . I havent had any adverse effects so far im also on 40 mg df118s every 4 hours plus 10 mg oramorph 4 times a day . I know this sounds a lot but it keeps me asleep at night and pain free from my ruptured disc and trapped nerves in the day . My injury occured 10 years ago and have only just reached a combination that works through my local pain clinic . Sometimes I take my meds at odd times and take quit a lot together still nothing to complain about. Would you say im safe to carry on ? Kind regards

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.

These analgesic will lead to dependence , you can’t take them for long duration.
MRI spine can be done to see for any nerve compression.
Medication like methylcobalamine with muscle relaxant and analgesic will reduce pain; you can take them consulting your treating doctor.

You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.

I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
If MRI shows disc compressing on nerve root then surgical decompression is permanent solution.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Take care.
